Part of the development of Alexx V, the Acoustic Diode is more than just an accessory; it’s a performance-enhancing breakthrough for every floor-standing Wilson loudspeaker.

Traditional spikes (or “diodes”) were designed to dissipate energy coming from the speaker cabinet by sending it into the floor via tiny points. (The definition of a diode is a device intended to transmit energy in one direction.)

But when a full-range loudspeaker (especially one with extended bass response) excites a room, significant vibrational energy can travel from the floor through the spike back into the loudspeaker.

So the concept of the Acoustic Diode was to isolate the speaker and the spike—so that energy flowing in either direction is absorbed by an intermediary material. Hence, Wilson Audio’s latest proprietary material—V. This superior constrained layer damping composite is unsurpassed in vibration absorption and resonance control.

This distinctive design provides a solid base from which the drivers can launch, as well as preventing the transmission of energy from the floor to the loudspeakers.

The new Diodes are available in chrome or black, and in thread sizes to match any current or former Wilson loudspeaker.

And V material, in addition to working its magic in the new Acoustic Diode, is also central to another revolutionary Wilson Accessory, Pedestal.
